SABISMS ~ Lightbulb Moments
Lightbulbs literally fire me up! By illuminating whatever I’m working on of course, but also as an inspiring image to represent potentially great ideas popping out of nowhere like a light switch being flicked on.
But let’s consider the wise words of the lightbulb luminary himself, Thomas Edison, who is reputed to have said:
Genius is one percent inspiration,
and ninety-nine percent perspiration.~ Thomas Edison

This observation goes hand-in-hand with the concept of harnessing your creativity in order to truly innovate. Innovate meaning actually producing something useful which can help people in their work or in their lives in general.
The belief that you need neither hard work nor a plan if you just have the right idea is fatally flawed. If you don’t have a plan and you don’t work hard at it, that lightbulb isn’t likely to light up much at all!
My plan for creative hard work this year is to focus on one project almost exclusively and move towards a solid goal, a little every day. By the 31st December I will have a complete body of work which I can use to promote next year’s efforts which will be an extension of the same theme. Onward and upward, here’s to long hours and lightbulbs, baby!
