Coming up with the idea for the wheel, as Fred Flintstone probably didn’t, has clearly served us humans fairly well down the years.
Representing women as assorted chopped up and cobbled back together body parts on a canvas is a less obviously useful creative act in the practical sense, unless you consider making Picasso very rich a useful thing, which he probably did.

Here at Creative Business Mind we’re primarily concerned with producing products and services from ideas which help the rest of humanity lead better lives, and possibly make us very rich in the process.
What’s truly amazing, is how truly amazing we humans are at coming up with truly amazing ideas. And never more so than when faced with a problem. We seem to have an inbuilt faculty for sorting stuff out, whatever it takes.
This is an encouraging thought, because not only does it promote a warm fuzzy feeling of smugness, but it also suggests that to be as inventive as we are capable of, we should actively go out looking for problems to solve.
In Fred Flintstone’s day, the challenges were undoubtedly much simpler, albeit infinitely more serious, like how not to get eaten by a sabre-toothed tiger before sunrise.
In peaceful times our brains thankfully don’t have to worry about surviving the night, but they are still crying out for some sort of stimulation.
So instead of mindlessly mowing down video game monsters or struggling with sudoku puzzzles, let’s do our brains a favour and resolve to solve some real life problems that will make other people’s lives better.
Try not to chop up too many women in the process, watch out for runaway new inventions and feel free to get very rich while you’re at it. Tell ’em Sablo sent you.
